Term 2 - Week 3

Bunjour. On Monday was my birthday and I turned 11! We did volleyball (which I'm not very good at) and I got hurt a lot. I learnt how to serve dig and pass back. We had a maths test on decimals which seemed to go on forever. On Tuesday we had our first science tech lesson. We learnt how poew said poo-eeey. On Wednesday and Thursday I was at band camp. I play the alto saxophoneImage result for alto saxophone (this is just a google image not my instrument). I did not really learn much at band camp we just practiced music over and over and over and over. On Thursday night we had a concert, which did not really go my way. I lost my music folder! It was there on the music stand at 3 pm when I left but it was not there when I was about to play at 7 pm. On Friday we did maths. I learnt that asssending means smallest to biggest not to smallest like I wrote in my book... oops! :P At tech we played with fire. We burnt tea bags and learnt the for them to fly they must be standing up not folded, you must also burn them from the top not the bottom. In the afternoon I did maori and we( Emma, Emily, Bobby and I) wrote a story about a trout, it was called A Trouts Life In The Waikao river. That concludes my week. Salut.

Term 2 - Week 2

Salut. On Monday my class was lucky enough to do lacrosse. Where I learned how to pass and catch a ball in lacrosse.  The man also showed us some tricks that you can do, under the leg, behind the back and a few others(all of which I did not do very well at). This week I learned how to work out compass bearings and true bearings.
This week was our last week at wood tech. I have finished my truck. I was one of the three year sevens who took their truck home. We oiled them with linseed oil, which really smells.
At french on Wednesday each person took up a popular french name for the lesson mine was Leila.  I can now have a full conversation in French. Lets pretend that you are a girl, about  ten, your name is Elodie. The italic stuff is you.

Camp

In week 11 Term 1 room 3 and 7 went on camp. We went to The Narrows Christian Camp located just before Hamilton. We had lots of fun, we did archery, waterside, air rifles, BMX, go carts and trolleys in activity groups. On the last day we got to do sling shot paintball in our classes, room three was lucky and got to go first. The food was really nice.

Term 2 - Week 1

Hello. It's a brand new term and it's time to learn some brand new things. On Monday we had a powhiri for our new Japanese teacher and a teacher who will be going into room 6 while Mrs Davidson is on maternity leave. A powhiri is a Maori formal welcome. All the year 7s were welcomed in one on the first day of school this year. I also learnt how to find out missing angles of a polygon. If you had a 5 sided shape (pictured below)              Image result for five sided shape and you knew these angles:      A-190°   B-70°  C-130°  D-120°  E-? Therefore you need to find out E. A + B + C + D (190 + 70 +130 + 120) = 510, this is answer A, now count the sides. There are 5. You take away 2 from 5 to get the amount of triangles. That would be 3. Now multiply that number by 180. That is 540, this is answer B. Now take answer A away from B. That is 30, so E must be 30°. You can do this with any polygon. A regular polygon is slightly faster. Lets try it with an octagon. If you new none of these angles, but they were all the same you would just have to count the sides =8. On Tuesday morning I did Tech art, I think my truck is going well but I definitely need to get a move on, as we only have two more lessons.  We also had a visitor called Mike King who told us about depression and his addiction to alcohol and drugs.
